Liver is a significant part
of the digestive system. Apart from just aiding the digestion process, it also
helps clean blood of any impurities, along with being the primary agent that
helps make the blood clot. Hence, diseases of the liver can seriously interfere
with proper body functions. Some of the most common liver diseases include-
Fascioliasis, a parasitic infection of liver, Hepatitis and alcoholic liver
disease (which, as the name suggests, affects people who consume alcohol in an
increased amount.) If a person is diagnosed with Facioliasis, it means a
parasitic worm, Fasciolosis, which is plant-borne has affected the person's
liver.
The main concern here is that since the
symptoms of the disease aren't very unique, doctors and specialists tend to miss
it. Hepatitis, however, is very distinguishable. A person suffering from
Hepatitis has inflammation of the liver which often leads to Jaundice. This is
a common disease and affects thousands in India alone. Mr. Durgesh Kidangoor, a
resident of Chennai, is one of them. Mr. Kidangoor, who is generally an active
salesman and self-proclaimed foodie, suddenly realized that his appetite had
gone down considerably and he was feeling lethargic at all times.
He called us up and wanted to know about some
liver specialists in Chennai, close to his place in Taramani. We made sure that
Durgesh got an appointment with the doctor of his choice as soon as possible.
With ample rest and correct diet, as suggested by his doctor; Durgesh soon
recovered and is now back to his healthy and lively self.
