First
successful human heart transplant was performed by Christiaan Barnard
in 1967 and since then the process has been made much common and
relatively less risky by medical advancements and the efforts of
medical experts. Due to the nature of the organ, a transplant is only
done when it is thought to be the last resort. Unlike many other
transplants like that of the Kidney and Liver; a heart transplant's
donor is always a diseased or brain dead. Along with this, certain
people with other serious health issues, are also considered
unsuitable for this surgery.
Mr.
Amitosh Bhattacharya, a marketing professional working in Bangalore,
realized the complications that come with this surgery very recently.
Amitosh's father, Mr. Suromitro Bhattacharya, who lives in Mysore,
was told by his doctor that he'll need a heart transplant after his
Angina took a turn for the worst. Worried, the family was also highly
distressed as they were still searching for a donor and the right
surgeon. On the advise of their cardiologist in Mysore, the family
got in touch with our in-house doctors at Credihealth to help them
figure out the best doctor and hospital, as well as understand the
procedure.
After
meeting the doctor and his team, Amitosh felt confident about getting
his father's heart transplant in Bangalore and the family got ready
for his surgery. It has now been a week since the operation and Mr.
Suromitro Bhattacharya is still recovering after his successful
surgery. The Bhattacharya family is happy with their doctor and glad
that Credihealth helped them make an informed decision.
