Liver diseases can really cause great harm to an individual's health and there are many different kinds of liver diseases that effect human beings. Of all these, viral infections can be very harmful. Hepatitis A, B and C are some of these. Apart from viruses, harmful substances like alcohol can also be a reason for serious medical issues in the liver. Some of these include: alcoholic hepatitis, alcoholic fatty liver disease, cirrhosis, and liver cancer.
Ritwick Rajshekhar, a professor at a reputable college in Bangalore had a history with alcohol abuse. Post his divorce, he relapsed and started drinking heavily again. Apart from the deep psychological impact, the excessive amount of alcohol in his system started to take a toll on his health and soon, he began seeing the symptoms. He constantly felt pain and swelling in the abdomen, felt nauseous and fatigued at all times. Ritwick also lost his appetite and noticed his skin was getting pale and reddish around hands and feet. Apart from these common indications, he was moody, irritable and itched a lot.
After these symptoms got out of control, his friends forced him to see the doctor. On deciding the doctor, we then booked an early appointment for Ritwick. During a follow-up call we were told Ritwick was diagnosed with Alcoholic Liver disease and was receiving treatment. He is now recovering from his state and will now go to rehab to improve his condition.
